If you ever wondered about our origin story, look no further than Chelsea Kirkland, Digital Inclusion Coordinator for DC Public Library.

The Upskilling Labs is a volunteer-run community that emerged from that pilot, implemented in partnership with DC Public Library (with Chelsea at the helm) and Levy. We're proud to continue partnering with both as we work to help workers in the DMV region adapt to AI — even as employers, governments, and organizations are figuring it out themselves.

Read this piece by Kaela Roeder on Technical.ly about Chelsea's ongoing work to help DC residents build AI awareness and literacy, cybersecurity awareness, and more. (p.s. - We love the "Cool/Scary AI" discussions taking place in neighborhood libraries across the city! )
